Rehabilitation Robotics

ECTS-Punkte:
3
Lernziele:

Module based at the rehaLab, Institute for Human Centred Engineering, BFH Engineering and Information Technology.

This course will provide an introduction to the technology of rehabilitation robotics, with a deep coverage of several clinically-applied robotic systems. It will also cover the basic neurophysiology of the human sensory-motor system, describe various pathologies that lead to the need for intensive rehabilitation therapy, cover the mechanisms of interlimb coordination during walking, and look in detail at the clinical application of the technology.

The course will include lectures on 8 key topics, and will also place a strong emphasis on practical project work in the rehaLab's Rehabilitation Robotics Laboratory, which is well equipped with several state-of-the-art rehabilitation robotics systems: G-EO, Lokomat, Lyra, Erigo, Allegro, and several custom-built devices.
