Participants will be able to:
. Describe and perform key tasks in procurement, logistics, and supplier relationship management within a basic supply chain context.
. Analyze and evaluate supply chain processes by identifying performance indicators (KPIs), and propose suitable methods for process improvement.
. Explain and manage essential information flows in the supply chain, including order, delivery, and payment flows, as well as demand and capacity information sharing.

Participants will be able to:
. Analyse industrial value-adding processes by selecting and using the right methods
. Systematically identify potential for improvement and derive measures and recommendations.

Modul- und Lerninhalt:

1) Purchasing & Supplier Management
Explain and apply key principles of operational purchasing and strategic sourcing.
Conduct spend analys,understand and use methods of category management and supplier segmentation, 
 and derive procurement strategies.
Develop supplier management processes, including evaluation, development, and risk monitoring.

 

2) Warehouse Management
Understand the role of warehousing in the overall supply chain.
Design basic warehouse layouts and select appropriate equipment and storage technologies.
Analyze and optimize picking processes and material flows.
Evaluate trade-offs between space, throughput, technology, and cost.

 

3) Inventory & Planning
Distinguish between push/pull systems and locate the decoupling point in different supply chain settings.
Apply principles of inventory management, including safety stock calculation and replenishment policies.
Create basic schedules and evaluate sequencing and batching strategies.
Simulate supply chain dynamics and variability using tools like the Beer Game.

 

4) Forecasting
Understand the importance of demand forecasting in planning processes.
Learn how to perform a sales forecast as base of your planning.
Apply simple quantitative forecasting techniques and interpret forecast accuracy.
Evaluate the impact of forecast quality on inventory levels and service performance.

 

5) Transportation Management
Identify and compare transport modes and their suitability for different logistical contexts.
Understand packaging and yard management as components of transportation efficiency.
Develop tender and carrier selection strategies for your inbound and outbound logistics.
Assess transport decisions with respect to cost, time, reliability, and sustainability."
