Leitidee:

The ability of successful and competetive manufacturing of companies is heavily influenced by the development of advanced manufacturing technologies. The highly accuarte and complex parts with tight tolerances should be produced with high productivity, proper machine tools and faster time to market. These aims could be achived using advanced manufacturing technology and proper faclities and machine tools. 
On successful completion of this module students will be able to to use advanced manufacturing technologies to improve the competitive advantage of the organisations.

By the end of this module, the students will be able to 

  • recognise a range of advanced manufacturing processes, 
  • undertsand the accuracy of machine tools and measurment systems,
  • analyse advanced manufacturing technologies to determine their appropriateness for an application or process,
  • analyse an existing manufactured product and associated process to introduce proposals for possible improvements.
