Students will be able to
- describe the different security concepts of today's most important platforms
- explain the current approaches to protecting operating systems and computer platforms against attacks and infiltration by malware
- explain the corresponding methods and implement them in practice

- Platform Security
- Attacks (for example buffer overflow, root kits, lying endpoint problem).
- Hardware Security Module, smart cards.
- Platform Trust Service based on Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
- UEFI Secure Boot, Windows/Linux/Android platform security.
- Hardened operating systems, the trusted boot of virtual machines.
- Classic platforms: Security concepts in modern operating systems and virtualised platforms.
- Modern cloud platforms: Security concepts and implementation.
- The content will be adapted as needed to respond to current trends.
