This course is designed for exchange students of the OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule who have little or no previous knowledge of German. The course aims to provide you with a basic knowledge of German in order to enable you to find your way in a German-speaking environment and to make your stay in St. Gallen a success.
The course covers the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing on a basic level. Focus will be on communicative skills as well as on grammatical structures and vocabulary. Topics include every day’s life and issues. Referring to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) this course offers the necessary basis leading to Level A1.1.

Both exams will be written during the semester. Feedback and grade to the exams will also be given during the semester in class.
