After successfully completing the lecture, students will understand the main concepts of Augmented Reality and be able to decide which techniques to use in particular application scenarios. Practical experience in the lab part will enable to start with own projects.
Augmented Reality is a fast developing field, with many potential applications for the industry, the medical sector, and the general public.
This class will first introduce the concept and problematic of Augmented Reality. We will then present the theoretical tools and technical bricks used in Augmented Reality. We will also study past and current 3D registration systems, as well as realistic rendering methods.

Modern smartphones are prepared to use Augmented Reality applications. These range from simple demonstrations to globaly played games. These applications are mostly experienced by one user.
Using new technologies built into smartphones, this work will explore how an augmented reality experience can be created that is shared by more than one user in real time.
